Las Vegas Raiders: Combine Mock Draft

The combine usually doesn’t change much for me unless something crazy happens. There have been a few of those Becton, Taylor and Miss, just to name a few. The Raiders again have a plethora of picks early, and look to add more to build on last seasons amazing draft. Here is a mock draft with a few minor trades involved.

Round 1 (Pick 12)- WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama– the raiders have to go WR in this case. Draft simulations have Jeudy falling all the way to 16 in some, and I don’t see it. He’s a precise route runner with great hands, they have to get Brady a WR1 here.

Round 1 (pick 25)LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma- The Vikings are enticed by Kristian Fulton at 19, the Raiders receive picks 25 and 58 in return and select Kenneth Murray here. Murray in a trade back is ideal, he’s not polished enough to warrant a top 20 pick, but is worth the risk on a trade back.

Round 2 (pick 58)- CB Cameron Dantzler, Mississippi state– the Raiders add their own corner here at 58, to pair with 2nd year standout Trayvon Mullen. Dantzler is a good value in the 2nd round and can play in zone or man to man at a high level.

Round 3 (Pick 80)- DT Jordan Elliot, Missouri- I love this defensive tackle class, and after missing on the first 4 guys, the Raiders get a great consolation prize with their first round 3 pick.

Round 3 (Pick 81)- S Ash Davis, Cal- Davis has taken a bit of a hit in draft stock, with Dugger and Jeremy Chinn likely jumping him. I think he will be available here and the Raiders have added a guy at each level of the defense in a very solid draft.

Round 3 (Pick 90) RB Cam Akers, Florida State- The number one priority for the Raiders in 2020 should be to keep Josh Jacobs fresh. Adding a guy like Akers in the 3rd is a luxury, but one the Raiders need to use. Akers had a very good collegiate career and should step in nicely as RB2

Round 4 (Pick 111)- QB Steven Montez, Colorado- questions surrounding Montez and his mechanics make him a 4th round pick today. He needs some work and he should learn well under Brady and Gruden in Vegas.
